Definition
INP (Interaction to Next Paint) — INP measures the latency of interactions (clicks, taps, key presses) throughout the visit and reports one of the slowest.
Quick answer
Target: ≤ 200 ms. Ship less JavaScript, break up long tasks, avoid heavy third-party scripts.
Why it matters
INP replaced FID as a Core Web Vital in March 2024 because FID only measured the delay of the first interaction.
