Definition

LCP (Largest Contentful Paint) — LCP measures the time until the largest text block or image in the viewport is rendered.

Target: ≤ 2.5 s. Reduce TTFB, never lazy-load the LCP image, use fetchpriority="high", AVIF/WebP and correct dimensions.

Time to first byte, resource load delay, resource load duration and render delay. Optimise whichever phase takes the longest.

Core Web Vitals are three Google metrics for real user experience: LCP (loading), INP (responsiveness) and CLS (visual stability).

INP measures the latency of interactions (clicks, taps, key presses) throughout the visit and reports one of the slowest.

CLS measures visual stability: how much page elements shift unexpectedly.
